Overview
Nova Player ("Nova", "we", "the app") is a media player for user-provided legal M3U and Xtream playlists.
Nova Player is a media player for users who provide their own legal M3U or Xtream playlist. Nova does not provide, sell, host, verify, recommend or promote channels, movies, sports, subscriptions or streaming content.
Playlist import
M3U playlist URLs you submit may be fetched server-side to parse channel metadata.
Xtream credentials (server URL, username, password) you submit are used only to import your playlist.
Credentials and URLs are not logged in application logs.
Pairing sessions store this data temporarily until your TV completes import or the session expires, then data is deleted.
Local storage
On your device, Nova may store in browser or TV local storage:
- Favorites and watch history
- Profiles and settings
- Parental PIN (locally)
- Imported channel metadata from your playlist
Optional cloud backup
If you configure Supabase (optional), backup JSON may be stored in your Supabase project.
Cloud backup is inactive unless you configure NEXT_PUBLIC_SUPABASE_URL and related settings.
Demo mode
Demo mode uses legal public test streams only. No account is required.
What we do not collect for content
Nova does not host, sell, or distribute channels, movies, sports, or subscriptions.
Data retention
Pairing credentials: deleted after successful TV import or session expiry (typically 15 minutes).
Server logs should not contain raw playlist URLs or passwords when properly configured.
Security
We use HTTPS in production. Protect your server and pairing data directory if self-hosting.
Your rights
Contact support@novaplayer.app for data questions.
You can clear local data via browser or TV storage settings or app backup reset.
Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
